Gold, Silver, Bronze, Needle

As I’m watching the Olympics of these determined athletes, I can’t help but think, they all need some serious acupuncture. Too much of me? Am I turning into the mad-scientist-acupuncturist? All these wipe outs, back-bends, and muscling tears, not to mention the tears-of-defeat of most of the competitors. I can just imagine the micro-tears throughout their musculoskeletal system; their Achilles tendons are screaming, help me! help me! help me!

I’m sure they have acupuncturists at hand, yet how many of these athletes actually utilize acupuncture consistently to heal their muscle injuries, replenish their depleted energy, and mentally focus for tomorrow’s competition? Do they really know how well they can heal and improve muscle tone with acupuncture? I just want to pack-up my needles and passport, head off to Vancouver, and camp out at the lodge of Team USA. I want to treat every athlete to nourish their muscles, increase their agility, and revitalize their energy...and maybe get a lovely pix with each athlete; Evan Lysacek, LOVE YOU!

So to my fellow Americans in Vancouver reaching for the gold, go out there and be a monster-to-be-reckoned-with, keep in mind to rest and replenish at the end of the day and treat your aches-n-pains with some yummy acupuncture!

Aaaand, ACTION!

Every week at my clinic is a wonderful week. I get the chance to work with people, reduce their pain, increase their agility, relieve their stress, and be a part of improving their all around health. I would like to share with all of you what made this past week an especially great week.

Two of my patients wanted to come in for treatment for new pain that they were experiencing and they wanted immediate treatment to prevent any furthermore pain or discomfort. Ladies and gents, these individuals demonstrate the power of early detection is only valuable when followed up with action.

When an illness or injury is detected and acted upon early, we are able to work together sooner and treat the condition quickly before the condition progresses to a deeper level of pain or illness. At this early time of detection, the condition is still vulnerable and weak. When treated sooner than later, we are able to strengthen the body’s immune system and energy, provide mental balance, increase circulation, or decrease pain immediately. Treatments early on keep the condition from becoming chronic or returning.

Early detection and action is cost effective. The earlier treatment begins, the less aggressive the condition and the more powerful each treatment becomes -allowing for a swift recovery from just a few treatments. When our aches and pains go unattended or we are hoping the condition will work itself out, this enables the illness/injury to gain strength and momentum, and at this point recovery may take longer with more office visits, which ends up being more costly then if treated earlier.

I hope this message reaches you well and reminds you to act promptly when confronted with an injury or illness. Early detection and action allows the healing process to respond quicker, keep more cash in your wallet, and it provides you the freedom to get back to work, play, and live a healthier now!
